This field day opportunity provides an introductory How-To opportunity, to support beginners learning their species or who wish to attend a July Count Day and want to understand how it works first. It's an orientation to how those counts work, what to plan for and how much relaxed fun it really is! If you just want to come to learn for your own backyard, feel free to join us! We'll only be exploring one (perhaps two) properties.

All are welcome, regardless of butterfly knowledge or experience. All participants must arrive at designated starting point on time. No pets are allowed. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of the session.

What to Bring

Please bring what you need to to be "in the field" for the morning.   Water, sunscreen/tick prevention, outdoor attire, hat with visor, watch, cell phone, medications (e.g. epi-pen). If you wish (not required), bring along what what wish to assist with identifications such as field guide, butterfly net (if you have one), camera, petri dish (if you have one), cell phone, and/or camera.
